When you add a site to the Scotlist the system requires that you link to your site using the full URL, please use the format http://www.mysite.com instead of www.mysite.com or mysite.com.
Copy and paste links while you are logged into a social network will also result in errors if secure browsing is toggled on.
The solution for this is edit the link once you have pasted it into the link box, remove the s from https
Note that it is never advisable to use the https format when posting links anywhere because any link visitors need to be logged into that particular site in order to see the link. If they are not logged in or not a member of the site they will receive an error from your https link so it is best to use the http link format.
Errors normally only occur when you exceed the permitted size.
Please optimize your images for use on the web, save them as .PNG or .JPG and keep them less than 2Mb in size. For example a 640 x 480 jpg optimized for onscreen use is adequate for all image displays on this site.
You will receive an error message if you exceed the image size limit.
This is generally noticed by new users and usually happens when the user has just added a listing. Unfortunately phenomenon is a quirk of the directory software.
